Major Responsibilities

Conduct requirements analysis, develop system designs, and implement computer systems under limited supervision:

o Interpret, discuss and refine business requirements and produce design and implementation specifications

o Analyze requirements to be able to determine and recommend appropriate solutions for business problems

Work closely with business unit personnel to fine tune programming solutions

Create documentation for systems developed to ensure they can be modified by others and supported by the business units and IT support staff

Assist business unit personnel in using tools appropriate for the application

Requirements/Qualifications

Subject Matter Expert knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio

More than five years experience in ASP.NET/C#/VB

More than five years experience in database design, optimization, and troubleshooting

The ability to support systems in extended hours is required

A minimum of 5 years work experience at the Programmer/Analyst

More than five years experience programming within SQL Server 2005/2008 – working with database design and implementation, stored procedures, DTS packages, SSIS, SQL Reporting Services, and Analysis Services (designing, maintaining, and enhancing OLAP cubes)

Strong attention to detail, logical/critical thinking and analysis skills is required

Excellent communication, customer service, planning, and coordination skills

Ability to conduct business analysis and requirements gathering

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities; ability to adapt to changing priorities

Knowledge of and ability to design, build and develop a new product, technology or service from concept through to production

Knowledge of mentoring concepts and techniques, and ability to effectively participate in a mentoring relationship.

Qualifications:

Microsoft .NET development platform and related tools, specifically ASP.NET, C#, WPF, Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), and SQL Server 2005/2008.

5-10+ years of project experience performing software development, including at least 2-3 years of project experience architecting applications, with the following expertise:

Leadership: Excellent team building and leadership skills. Excellent communication skills. Highly self-directed. Able to multitask given incomplete and conflicting knowledge.

MVC architecture and related object oriented design patterns.

Web CMS experience implementing Sitecore is a must!

Web Application Architecture: Expert knowledge of the domain.

Knowledge and experience in architecting and developing e-commerce systems.

Knowledge of databases and data modeling is necessary.

Knowledge of basic system and network administration tasks is necessary.

Working ability to identify architecturally significant requirements and their ramifications

Work with interactive agencies and knowledge of brand, creative and user-experience competencies is a plus.

Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, IT, Computer Science or related field. Equivalent technical experience may be substituted for educational requirement

Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) preferred

Experience

Hands on development experience with in the .net framework (2.0 or higher), C#, AsP.NET (webforms or mvc), Winforms or wpf, ado.net and third-party frameworks such as nhibernate, rhino mocks and spring.net
Some exposure to object-relational mappers or frameworks in the same space
Experience with SCMs such as team foundation server, subversion, Git.
Experience working in iterative and/or agile environments with understanding of agile values and principles. Likes to work in a team setting.
Strong knowledge and usage of object oriented application design in developing systems. understanding of design patterns and experience using them
In-depth experience working with relational database systems, preferably SQL server 2005/2008. Exposure to SQL server reporting services, SQL server analysis services and SQL server integration services is a plus.
Must have the ability to perform multiple roles during the development lifecycle
Experience in healthcare is a plus

Education

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in information systems, computer science, information technology or a related discipline from four-year college or university; MASTER’s Degree a plus.

About the project – we are implementing a new learning management system to replace two older systems
we have.  These two systems representing the largest chunk of revenue for our
company.  This new system, Meridian, will be a hosted solution, heavily
customized by the vendor, and some customization done by us.  The system will
not officially launch until next year, most likely, and until then, we want to
use some of its functionality with our existing systems – meaning web services.
We are not to a development point, yet, but we need to get someone in to help
replace the outgoing person who was responsible for gathering requirements and
then developing the solution.

Some specific responsibilities include:

Work on multiple software development projects using the .NET framework as directed by the Application Development Manager. Projects include web, windows forms, windows and web service development
Work with departments and end-users to thoroughly define business requirements
Document and obtain sign-offs on business requirements before developing
Provide application support (second or third tier)
Manage small to medium scale projects through all stages of the project from requirements gathering to implementation
Work with other departments to perform unit testing and system testing of new applications
Design, code and test components and systems that cost effective, scalable, high performance and reusable.
Design and develop normalized databases
Mentor junior developers as needed
Skills Required

To meet the demands of this key position, the Sr. .NET Developer must possess the following skills and experience:

B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited university or equivalent years of work experience in the field
Full SDLC experience developing large or complex systems
Strong background and experience in Object-Oriented Analysis, Design and Programming, including abstraction
Thorough understanding of the .NET framework 2.0 or higher
7+ years experience developing n-tier architecture systems, using C# and Visual Studio
7+ years experience developing web applications with high transactional volume using .NET technologies
2 years of JavaScript development
Solid background with SOA, SOAP, and Web Services
3-4 years experience with ASP.NET 2.0 or higher, T-SQL, Stored Procedures.
Solid background using XML, XSL, XSLT
Solid understanding of eCommerce technology and architecture
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management and professional skills
Self-directed; the ability to work independently to meet deadlines and produce quality work in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment
