Major Responsibilities

Conduct requirements analysis, develop system designs, and implement computer systems under limited supervision:

More than five years experience programming within SQL Server 2005/2008 – working with database design and implementation, stored procedures, DTS packages, SSIS, SQL Reporting Services, and Analysis Services (designing, maintaining, and enhancing OLAP cubes)

About the project – we are implementing a new learning management system to replace two older systems
we have.  These two systems representing the largest chunk of revenue for our
company.  This new system, Meridian, will be a hosted solution, heavily
customized by the vendor, and some customization done by us.  The system will
not officially launch until next year, most likely, and until then, we want to
use some of its functionality with our existing systems – meaning web services.
We are not to a development point, yet, but we need to get someone in to help
replace the outgoing person who was responsible for gathering requirements and
then developing the solution.

Some specific responsibilities include:

Work on multiple software development projects using the .NET framework as directed by the Application Development Manager. Projects include web, windows forms, windows and web service development
Work with departments and end-users to thoroughly define business requirements
Document and obtain sign-offs on business requirements before developing
Provide application support (second or third tier)
Manage small to medium scale projects through all stages of the project from requirements gathering to implementation
Work with other departments to perform unit testing and system testing of new applications
Design, code and test components and systems that cost effective, scalable, high performance and reusable.
Design and develop normalized databases
Mentor junior developers as needed

B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited university or equivalent years of work experience in the field

JOB SUMMARY
Works with new customers to take the solution concept they have bought into concrete reality. The Deployment Services team assesses the customer’s requirements and plans out the projects that will deliver a working solution. These projects involve system integration between products, call recording systems, and other customer data sources, as well as hardware design and software product installation. The position also supports existing customers as their analysis needs and technical environment change over time. The Deployment Services team helps them acquire additional data for analysis, troubleshoot integration problems, and accommodate changes in their call recording systems and other data sources.
